Kaizer Chiefs are back in Polokwane this afternoon for another Betway Premiership match when they visit Polokwane City at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. The game follows Kaizer Chiefs’ two home games last week against Richards Bay and Royal AM at the same venue.
Amakhosi collected four points in the two games after beating Richards Bay 2-1 and then playing to a 2-2 draw against Royal AM. The home side also shared the spoils in their last game, played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium against TS Galaxy; the score was 1-1.
On the log, Chiefs are 9th with 11 points after seven matches. Polokwane City have played two more games than Chiefs and have accumulated 14 points to lie 5th in the standings.
Amakhosi are happy to welcome defender Inacio Miguel back from his two-match suspension. He will be in the line-up as he comes in for Given Msimango, who is out of the team due to illness.
The second and last change Coach Nasreddine Nabi will be making this afternoon is another enforced one as Njabulo Blom comes on for the injured Dillan Solomons.
Coach Nabi will keep to a 4-4-2 formation.
Brandon Petersen is the goal stopper.
Bradley Cross is on the left of defence and Blom will be at right back. Rushwin Dortley and Miguel will be the central pairing.
Sibongiseni Mthethwa will play his third game in a row as he, once again, works with Yusuf Maart in midfield.
The wingers will be Gaston Sirino on the left and Mduduzi Shabalala on the right.
Wandile Duba and Ashley Du Preez will lead the attack.
The captain is Maart.
The match officials are referee Eugene Mdluli, and assistant referees Zakhele Siwela and Simukele Jali. The fourth official is Moses Kheswa.
The Betway Premiership match between Amakhosi and Rise & Shine will start at 15:30 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The match is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on X (Twitter) @KaizerChiefs.
