Fresh off a midweek clash against Siwelele, Kaizer Chiefs continue their busy schedule by shifting focus back to continental competition. The team is gearing up to face AS Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the second-leg of the second preliminary round of this season’s TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. The big match is scheduled to take place at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Sunday afternoon.

The two sides met in Lubumbashi last Saturday, where the first-leg match ended goalless. Sunday’s second-leg encounter is pivotal, as victory will secure a spot in the group stages of one of Africa’s premier club competitions.

Amakhosi will be aiming to rediscover their scoring touch after back-to-back goalless draws - first against AS Simba last weekend, and then against Siwelele in Wednesday’s Betway Premiership fixture at FNB Stadium.

AS Simba arrived in South Africa on Wednesday afternoon via OR Tambo International Airport to finalise preparations. Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are fully aware of the significance of Sunday’s match, hoping to replicate their 2021 CAF Champions League run that saw them reach the final.
