Tinashe Nengomasha was recalled to the Zimbabwe national team for their international friendly match to be played on the 26th March, he along with fellow Kaizer Chiefs team mate Onismor Bhasera will be traveling on the 23rd March to the Zimbabwean capital Harare for the match that will take place three days later.

Nengomasha who was last called up to the Zimbabwe national team for an Africa Cup Of Nations Qualifier, away to Morocco in a match which he did not feature in, is looking to use the upcoming friendly to re-launch his international career.

His compatriot at club and international level Onismor Bhasera hopes that the Zimbabwean warriors make full use of the opportunity to utilize the match to prepare for themselves for the upcoming 2010 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers which also double up as qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Nengomasha at the ready

Tinashe Nengomasha is looking to fire his country into the next phase of qualifying and wants to achieve the same kind of success with the Zimbabwean national team as he has with Chiefs over the past four and a half seasons.

Named as the PSL Player of the year in the 2003 – 2004 season, he believes it is possible for him to help lead Zimbabwe to both the 2010 Africa Cup Of Nations and FIFA World Cup.

“This up coming friendly later next month represents the start of a new phase for me with the national team. I want to play for my country and do well with them, I do feel that I am performing better now than I have in the past two seasons and am showing the kind of form that can help me be part of that setup and hopefully success over the next two years at least”.

Toward Angola – South Africa

Chiefs other Zimbabwean international Onismor Bhasera, who participated in the Morocco match in June last year, believes that Zimbabwe are in the kind of group that could see them easily progressing through to the next phase of qualification.

“I have said before that looking at the group we are in, we need to be confident and believe that we can progress further, that is why these friendly matches are so important. It will give us a chance to play together before the actual qualifiers start. We have guys like Benjani who are playing so well in England and if we have the chance to work with each other a few times, by the time the actual qualifiers start we will be able to easily click together which will obviously work towards our objective which is ultimately qualifying for these events”.
