After a 10-day break, Kaizer Chiefs return to action in Durban for their fourth Betway Premiership fixture of the season, against Richards Bay FC. The clash takes place under the floodlights at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu township.

The match was originally scheduled for Moses Mabhida Stadium, but the PSL confirmed a late venue change last week, moving it to a ground where Chiefs last played four years ago.

Currently sitting third on the log with seven points, Amakhosi have the opportunity to close the gap on the leaders, who moved to 10 points after their respective fourth games last night. With the pitch conditions at Princess Magogo less than ideal for professional football following recent rugby fixtures at the venue, coach Fernando Da Cruz has emphasised careful preparation as his players aim to maintain their trademark flowing style of football.

Chiefs have suffered a setback with new attacker Langelihle Phili, who scored in the recent draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, sidelined by an ankle injury. He is expected to return in eight weeks’ time. On the positive side, Reeve Frosler has recovered after missing the Sundowns clash.

Coach Da Cruz is expected to deploy a 4-3-3 formation, making two changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Sundowns at FNB Stadium. Mduduzi Shabalala replaces Sibongiseni Mthethwa, while Phili’s spot is taken by Mfundo Vilakazi.

In goal is Brandon Petersen, who retains the captaincy.

His defence will consist of Thabo Moloisane on the left, Inacio Miguel and Zitha Kwinika in central defence, and Thabiso Monyane on the right.

Lebohang Maboe anchors the midfield, supported by Siphesihle Ndlovu and Shabalala.

The wingers are Pule Mmodi who will operate on the left flank, with Vilakazi on the right, and Luke Baartman leading the attack for Amakhosi.

Petersen is the skipper.

Refereeing the match is Cedric Muvhali, assisted by Sipho Mahlangu and Lubabalo Pitsha. The fourth official is Thokozani Mkhize.

Kick-off for this important Betway Premiership encounter between the Glamour Boys and the Natal Rich Boyz is scheduled for 19:30 at the Princess Magogo stadium in KwaMashu.
