We need all the support - Madida

With The Amakhosi beginning a four-week six, possibly seven game programme depending on Chiefs progress in the Telkom Cup, Amakhosi assistant coach Fani Madida has appealed to Chiefs fans to come out in large numbers over the next couple of weeks as Chiefs play Platinum Stars, Free State Stars, Moroka Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates on the menu in the PSL.

There is also the added spice of Chiefs upcoming Telkom Cup ¼ Final meeting with their old rivals SuperSport United. Victory over Matsasantsa will see Chiefs have another game to play in the form of a Telkom Cup semi-final game.

Madida believes that the next couple of weeks will be crucial to Chiefs over all success for the remainder of the season, and having extra voices in the terraces will most definitely go along way towards helping Chiefs get the kind of results they will be aiming to achieve in these games.

The Chiefs assistant who during his time as a player with the club during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, as a result of his great goal scoring prowess was able to bring in fans in their droves to spur his team on as they did a clean sweep on the domestic front in the 1992 season, believes that the current team can do the same as long as they have the backing of the fans. And with the kind of attractive brand of football that the team are playing, Madida is of the opinion that fans coming out in the next few weeks to watch the Amakhosi will get full value for their money.

Full house needed

As a player Madida said there is no better sight than walking out in front of a packed stadium gets the adrenaline moving as he explained, “walking out to empty seats is demotivating to any player. Entering the field for the warm up and seeing a packed Stadium is what gets you all fired up, the noise the atmosphere and knowing that you cannot disappoint all the people who have taken time out to come and see you makes you put in extra effort to win the game”.

Supporter thanks

Madida has also commended the fans for the encouragement that they have meted out to the team and for getting behind the players as the team has looked to rebuild this season.

Madida added. “The fans have been fantastic to this point and we need them to keep up their support and the way they have rallied behind the team has really been commendable and the guys are well aware that the fans need to be rewarded for their efforts. We have put in the man hours on the training ground and for our most important investors we will come out guns blazing against Platinum Stars on Sunday”.

Mohatle's Call

Club communications manager Thebe Mohatle has urged fans intending to attend any of The Amakhosi’s matches to purchase their tickets in advance, match tickets for the clubs next home league fixture on the 31st October against Free State Stars are out on public sale at the moment.

These two games are our home matches and we will make the necessary announcements as soon as the tickets go on sale.

Our third game on the 24th November against Orlando Pirates also been confirmed for Durban. As this is not our home game we will pass out the information on tickets sales as soon as they are passed on to us”.
