Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic insisted on Tuesday while addressing the reporters at the Club’s Media Open Day at Naturena, that he and his players are focused on winning the game against Mpumalanga Black Aces before they can start thinking about the Soweto derby.

The Glamour Boys have a tricky fixture on Wednesday night against PSL strugglers Mpumalanga Black Aces at Loftus Stadium and they will travel to Orlando Stadium on Saturday to honour a meeting against Soweto rivals, Orlando Pirates.

“The most important thing for me and the players now is to win the next game,” said Vermezovic.

“The game against Black Aces is important to us as we want to finish as high as possible on the table. We missed a chance to challenge strongly for the championship and now our focus is on finishing on the second spot.

The upcoming game then becomes very important despite missing key players in Jose (Torrealba), (Zhiamu) Jambo) and Thabang Rooi. I have confidence in all the players in the team and I am sure that the other guys will grab the opportunity against Aces,” continued Vermezovic.

Vermezovic also added that as the team they needed to earn respect from their opponents, “It is very important that as the team we start earning respect from the opponents on how we perform on the field.

Teams triple their efforts when they play against us, which means we have to do more to win games and eventually earn the respect we deserve. We need to give our best on each and every game and the last three games starting on Wednesday will be like cup finals for us,” he added.
