Trials for the Kaizer Chiefs Youth development Under 17 and U/19 teams have been postponed indefinitely. Initially scheduled for Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd of June 2010, the event that normally attracts hundreds of aspiring footballers has had to be cancelled owing to the unplayable conditions of the host Shaft 17 venue.

In addition, the neighbouring Soccer City in NASREC that is currently hosting the FIFA 2010 World Cup tournament has also had a bearing effect on the trials. Some coaches are also involved as commentators and analysts for the 2010 FIFA World Cup whilst others are spread out for various assignments across the country.

The Management and staff at the Youth Development Programme are otherwise thankful to both parents and youngsters that honoured the earlier trials that targeted the Under 13 and 15. A further announcement regarding the U/17 and U/19 shall be made once a suitable date is found.
