Tsotetsi defending with honour

Big games are what Moketi Tsotetsi lives for! The defender who was recently called up to the Bafana Bafana squad for a friendly international with Paraguay but did not feature in the game says that he lives for exciting and riveting matches such as Chiefs upcoming game on Sunday against Moroka Swallows. Tsotetsi, who has performed formidably well for Chiefs since he joined The Amakhosi at the begining of the season, believes that The Amakhosi will rise to the occasion on Sunday and are looking towards trying to do better than the earlier encounter against Swallows which they lost.

According to the lanky defender losing the previous match has given them the perfect incentive to want to be successful on Sunday, as they would not want to let their Soweto rivals have bragging rights over them. As Tsotetsi will be hoping to help The Amakhosi keep Swallows from doing the double over Chiefs this season, and want the three points to climb above Swallows on the standings.

Playing hard

Tsotetsi has been pleased with the amount of game time he has received during his first season with Chiefs, and believes he is well on target towards achieving the objectives he had set out for himself prior to him joining the Amakhosi. He explained “ when I came to Chiefs I thought that if I started fifteen league matches this season I would be happy, thus far I have made seventeen starts which I feel is not bad for a first season. We have around seven games to play and my aim would be to by the end of the season to have featured in around 20 plus games in total, hopefully next season get more game time”.

Swallowing the pride

Sundays game is important to Tsotetsi as he believes it could help put them exactly where they would like to be in terms of confirming a top eight spot, as he says “we want to not just qualify for the top eight but we will also be looking to end off ahead of Swallows and Pirates our to close traditional rivals. Should we win on Sunday and string together a run of around four or five matches we can easily push above both of them, the thing is that while we play Swallows on Sunday we have a match against Pirates in a months time. Winning against one of our Soweto friends will give us the confidence to be able to get another three points off Pirates, I feel there can be no better way for us to end off our season than with wins against Swallows and Pirates”.
