An estimated 10 000 screaming fans crammed at Charlton Centre on Thursday, December 10 to witness the launch of Kaizer Chiefs 40th Anniversary jersey.

In attendance at the launch was Club Managing Director Bheki Shongwe, Marketing Director Jessica Motaung, Brand Manager Dara Carroll, the whole team led by Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic including Club legends, Ryder Mofokeng, Ntsie Maphike, Fani Madida, Mike Mangena, Lucky Stalianou and Abel Shongwe.

The fans who had waited since 09h00 to see their stars also had an opportunity to interact with the players who spent time signing autographs.

David Mathebula wearing his no. 24 jersey expressed his excitement about the new jersey.

“It is a nice jersey and you can see that all the guys are excited about it.

The jersey is light despite black being the dominant colour. We are hoping that the jersey is going to help us continue with the good form we have been enjoying off late…maybe we going to start to score four instead of three,” said Mathebula with a smile.

The Glamour Boys will wear the jersey for the first time on Saturday when they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic at Super Stadium in Pretoria.

Kick off is at 20h15.
