George Lebese scored his first goal for the Club against Nathi Lions on Sunday since joining at the beginning of 2008/2009 season and says there is more to come. The Mamelodi-born youngster spoke to kaizerchiefs.com

kaizerchiefs.com: George, congratulations for scoring your first goal for the Club against Nathi Lions?

George Lebese: Thanks. I am happy to have scored my first goal. I am hoping that it is going to be the opening for more goals. I was very excited after the game and more importantly that, as the team, we had progressed to the second round of the competition.

This was only your second start this season, what were the instructions of the Coach before the game?

George Lebese: First I want to thank the Technical Team for giving me an opportunity to play on the day. I have been working hard at training and I was delighted to hear that I was going to start the game. The Coach told not only me but the whole team to not try too hard but to stick to basics. We did that as the team.

Personally I was not satisfied with my contribution on the day despite registering my name on the score sheet. I am going to continue working hard in improving all aspects of my game because I know that I can contribute more to the success of the team.

Are you worried that your next game is in April?

George Lebese: Yes, it is a concern but then again we have to focus. We know our goals and we just have to keep our eyes on the ball. The Technical Team for sure has a programme that is going to keep us busy for the next couple of days.

What are your ambitions until the end of the season?

George Lebese: It is my wish to stay injury free. Last season when I was given an opportunity I got injured in the semifinals against Sundowns when I was starting to get my confidence back. I want to work hard for the team and we can achieve our goals to bring more silverware to Naturena.
