Kaizer Motaung Jr. has described the six months he had to spend out because of the ankle injury as a ‘nightmare’. The Kaizer Chiefs Player of the Year 2007 was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday after making his first appearance this season during an emphatic win against Sundowns.

Junior sustained an ankle injury after coming as first half substitute during the Vodacom Challenge final in July last year against European giants, Manchester United.

“I am glad it is all over. The past six months have been a nightmare,” he said.

“It was awesome being with the guys in the camp, in the dressing room building up to the game and coming in for a few minutes,”

Kaizer came in for ‘Man of the Match’, Abia Nale in the 85th minute and should have added his name in the score sheet only to be denied by Calvin Marlin.

“Of course I wanted to score. It is important to bury teams like Sundowns when you get an opportunity to do so. The game was not over so we had to go for goals. Personally, I wanted to bury them. At the end of the day we had to settle for the 1-0 which is a huge boost for our chances in the Premiership,” he said.

‘K’ as he is affectionately known to his teammates believes that the dressing room has changed since the last time he was with the team, “The spirit in the camp was unbelievable. We all have one objective as players which augers well with our ambitions to challenge for league honours this season,” he concluded.
