Doctor Khumalo has told kaizerchiefs.com that the future for Kaizer Chiefs development looks bright following the victory in the Platinum Stars U17 Tournament. The young Chiefs who were, without a doubt, worthy winners of the tournament have been impressive this season.

The U17 mentor has attributed the victory to both discipline and superior tactical awareness of his charges,

“Discipline was key to this victory” he said.

“Credit should go to the boys for the courage they have shown throughout the tournament. We have assembled a very good side that was able to grasp the tactical discipline we have been instilling in them. The fact that we managed to score 21 goals - conceding none - is the testimony that the future looks bright for our development. I am very happy for the boys” said Khumalo.

He added that the players will now be given a short break and when they come back they will focus on the upcoming examinations, “The tournament was played during the school holidays so we have given the boys a couple of days off. When they come back they will focus on their exams. It is important that we equip players academically as well. We are happy with their progress on field. The future of these boys looks bright”
