South Africa was brought to a stand still at midday on Wednesday as thousands of fans came out to blow their Vuvuzela's and show their support for Bafana Bafana 48 hours before the kick off of the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Friday.

The campaing titled 'Unite for Bafana' campaign was a joint initiative by SuperSport, Southern Sun, the hosts of Bafana, and Talk radio 702. The parade started around noon and continued through the afternoon, the event was headlined by an open top 'Bus Parade' with the Bafana Bafana on board.

The three Chiefs players in the Bafana Bafana squad were on the Bus and waved feverishly at fans, friends and family who had lined the route in Sandton to give Bafana a rousing send off for what will be their third World Cup appearance at a FIFA World Cup Finals.

Amdist the sounds of Vuvuzela's and screaming fans the bus moved at a snails pace through the streets of Sandton, a number of foreign fans in the country for the World Cup joined in on the parade. According to estimates from the South African Police around 180 000 people lined the route to greet the Bus, it was not just in Sandton where South African's demonstrated their support as Vuvuzela's were heard through out the country at lunch time.

Sandton was a sea of green and yellow with fans decked out in the colours of the national team, the parade was ended with a shower of yellow and green confetti flutterring over the Sandton Skyline.
