Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Scara Ngobese lead his team mates in song and dance as the popular Kwaito artist Brickz almost brought the house down at the annual Kaizer Chiefs players awards that were held on Monday night at the Vodadome at Vodaworld in Midrand. In what can be described as a glittering and glamorous ceremony Amakhosi’s Ugandan midfielder David Obua who was nominated in total for six awards went home with four accolades.

Guests at the event were ushered through the night by former Kaizer Chiefs and Manchester United goalkeeper Gary Bailey who along with Tumisho Masha were the masters of ceremony for the evening. First up all the players and technical staff were handed appreciation awards from the club, they were handed out by director Abdool Hamid Muhammad. Guests were then kept warm the movements of award winning world famous ballroom dance specialist Michael Wentick and partner before the serious awards began rolling out.

Players of the month awards were handed out before, the various sponsors begin handing over their prizes to individual category winners, and this was followed by a tribute to the late Kaizer Chiefs legend Patrick Ace Ntoslengoe. Thereafter it became the Scara Ngobese show as he joined Brickz on stage for the final musical performance of the night. Scara was then joined by the rest of his team mates as guests to the awards were highly entertained by the Chiefs players skill on the dance floor.

Amakhosi Chairman Kaizer Motaung handed out special appreciation awards to PSL life president Leepile Taunyane; the chairman thanked him for his long-standing service to the game in the country. The second recipient on the night of a special award from the chairman was Major General Bantu Bonke Holomisa; Kaizer gave thanks to him for his long serving and undying support to the team. The General has been a Chiefs fan for many years and in the early days used to follow the team around wherever their travels took them.

Kaizer Chiefs marketing manager Jessica Motaung who was also responsible for producing and putting together the event closed off the evening, she thanked all the sponsors and Amakhosi staff for their efforts in ensuring that Chiefs once again closed off the season with silverware.
