After a chance meeting at the Kaizer Chiefs village a week ago between former Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo and Chiefs Ivorian striker Serge Djiehoua the big striker was left in awe by the meeting.

Speaking immediately afterwards in broken English and overwhelmed Djiehoua said “ I cannot believe that I had met him - if I tell my friends and family in the Ivory Coast about this meeting they will think I am a liar”.

Djiehoua then insisted that the in house journalist Yusuf Muhammad and team manager Bobby Motaung arrange a photo shoot of his next meeting with the Chiefs legend.

After a first failed attempt of providing Djiehoua with the evidence needed to parade around Abidjan, the return leg finally happened on Thursday as Djiehoua met Doctor for the second time to take the picture and get an autograph.

“Happy, happy so happy I have the picture I wanted since I was very young. I will send it to my mother and family they will be able to talk to everyone proudly of their brother and son” said Djiehou afterwards.

A delighted Doctor Khumalo commenting on the Ivorians happiness at meeting him quipped: “So many negative things happen in life - now and again it is very pleasing to find someone who still appreciates what you did to make them happy.

"The funny thing is that I would never have expected people in the Ivory Coast to have seen me play, it is always nice to know that you brought happiness to someone’s life”.

Serge has told team manager Bobby Motaung that he would like to stay with the team for many years to come and once his playing days are over he would not mind a position as driver or a bodyguard at the Chiefs village!
