Amakhosi midfielder Scara Ngobese and his business manager Steve Chapulisnky from Stella Africa held a meeting with Kaizer Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung, on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the midfielder's absence without explanation from training.

Scara did not attend training on Monday 28th November and Friday the 2nd December; subsequently the club has had to take action against the player.

In addition the young midfielder has been late for training on a number of occasions which has not gone down well with Coach Ernst Middendorp.

Commenting after Tuesday’s afternoons meeting Bobby Motaung said: “It was made clear to Scara and his manager that he will be fined for missing two training sessions and that he needs to give his future commitment and plans with the club to us in writing."

Motaung further said: “Scara brought up the point that this might prejudice against him being selected in the team, we made it clear that he needs to be punctual for training and put in 100% and like any other player he will be available for selection.

The issue here is not a question of personality it is about getting behind your team mates and showing that you want what is best for the team, Scara is a wonderful player and has a lot of skill. He needs to realize that and start focusing on his game like he did last season and not be distracted."

Scara for his part has apologised to his teammates, the coaching staff, the chairman as well as the supporters and had this to say after Tuesdays’ meeting.

“I have been asked to change my ways and write down my commitment to Chiefs, I will change and I will show my commitment to this team not just on paper but on the field of play, for now I am sorry and just want to get back into the team again."

Scara has dazzled fans with his amazing skills since joining Chiefs at the start of the 2004 –2005 season. Many journalists wrote him off prior to that season as the predicted flop of the season.

He proved them wrong helping Chiefs win the league with crucial goals against Orlando Pirates and Super Sport United, as well as winning the man of the match award when Chiefs won the 2004 Coca Cola Cup Final against Super Sport United.

Most recently Scara has been dangled a carrot by his mentor former Chiefs and current Bafana Bafana coach Ted Dumitru, who called him up to the provisional 35 man Bafana Bafana for the upcoming African Cup of nations. Scara last played for Chiefs on the 27th November in the 1-1 draw with Super Sport United in Pretoria.
