The fans who turned up at the Village on Saturday morning were given a glimpse of the immense potential for Kaizer Chiefs going long into the future, as the youth development academy teams made short shrift of the School of Excellence in the latest round of SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL) fixtures.

The U14s began the programme with a resounding 4-0 triumph, followed by the U15s showing resilience and determination to prevail 2-1.

In the afternoon, the U17 won comfortably, 2-0, and the U19s were superior to the tune of 4-1.

On Sunday morning, the Amakhosi U17s travelled to Tshwane to play SuperSport United at Curro Sagewood College to make up a previously postponed fixture, and they emerged victorious by 3-1, to claim back-to-back wins over the weekend.

This Saturday, the academy teams visit Woodlands International College, where Sevens Academy lie in wait for the next round f GDL matches.
