The Amakhosi rose before the sun Sunday morning in Bloemfontein as they rose early for breakfast followed by a pre match meal as they made their way through a sleepy Bloemfontein to Vodacom Park for their Mangaung Cup match against Moroka Swallows.

Chiefs were the first of the teams to arrive at the stadium and were greeted by an empty and some what cold Vodacom Park, the event organizers have stated the day’s events have been sold out and are expecting the stadium to fill up during Sunday’s triple header encounter.

Ernst Middendorp has been true to his word when saying that he will be affording as many of his team the opportunity to participate in the pre season programme, as he has made five changes to the team that took on and defeated Manchester United eight days ago. Commenting on his decision to make sweeping changes to the team the coach said “I promised each player that he will have the opportunity to play in the pre season matches so that they could state their case, so we made five changes and every guy deserves a fair amount of game time”.

The coach has also confirmed that he could be further experimenting with his team during the game by making a number of substitutions during the game saying “we are allowed to make six substitutions and we will probably use up five at half time and keep a substitute slot open for any players who are tired or the like there of”.

Two immediate beneficiaries of the coach’s decision to give as many players as possible a run out, Scara Ngobese makes his first start of the pre season after making a number of substitute appearances thus far.

Ghanaian Striker Louis Agyemang makes his way into the starting eleven as well and has been paired up along side Shaun Bartlett up front, as Ernst Middendorp opts for attack minded formations.
