How do you keep yourself motivated when you get dropped?

It’s tough but you have to keep positive. We’re all professionals. No one is going to baby you. You just have to try and focus on the good things and you need to work even harder than you did before, especially on your weaker points.

What are your weak points?

Sometimes my passing is a bit off and my side should improve. But that is something I am consistently working on. And a centre back can always improve on the timing of his tackles (smiles).

Most players dream of playing overseas one day, what about you?

I have lots of goals I want to achieve in my football career. One of them is playing in 2009 Confederations Cup, the 2010 World Cup and another is to play overseas, perhaps in Sweden or Belgium. I believe my style suit theirs. Nonetheless, a person’s future lies with the beholder. It is up to me to make things happen.

How do you deal with pressure?

I have a support of my friends and family, who always encourage me. Before a big match, I listen to Gospel music, which calms me down and prepares me for the battle at hand.

And now that you are a father, what is it like? Tell me about your daughter, Kamogelo?

She is the light of my life and I love her with all my heart. She is only two-years-old and I love spending time with her. She especially likes going to the Zoo and then going to McDonalds afterwards for kids’ happy meal.
