Amakhosi striker Knowledge Musona is keeping his mind on matters on the pitch and is not getting distracted by the hype surrounding Saturday’s Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates and is determined to help get the team back to winning ways, after their midweek loss to Santos.

Chiefs leading marks man this season with 6 goals in all competitions Musona as he explains has been going about his business as usual in the build up to the game, “I am approaching the match as I would any other, I am aware of the historical significance of the game and of the general rivalry with Pirates and that makes this game special. On the other hand preparing in the normal way as he would for any game will help keep us focused.”

The Zimbabwean international has for the past few days since Chiefs last league outing on Wednesday evening been concentrating his energy’s on putting one over Pirates and believes that the Amakhosi will be well prepared when they take the field to face their arch rivals on Saturday afternoon.

“Who ever your opponents are you must always be aware of what they have been doing, Pirates have been getting some good results recently and we aware of the way they have been playing. It is always important to check their weaknesses and strengths and also to check your own mistakes from your last game and rectify them.”

On the issue of rectification Musona feels that the sooner Chiefs are able to bounce back to winning ways after their loss to Santos the better placed they will be to challenge the league leaders.

“We are disappointed that we lost to Santos but we not down, playing Pirates so soon after a loss is a good thing for us. We need to approach Saturday’s game with our heads high and I know that despite the loss we in good shape mentally to face Pirates and play in a derby. This game is a test for us and for our mental strength, it is a test that will measure how well we can we rise up when facing a really tough challenge.”

In the meantime as kick off nears Musona remains strong on his conviction that playing his normal game will put him in good stead for Saturday’s game, “I am not really concerned with any thing other than going onto the field and playing how I usually play with the same passion and emotion. It is going to be a great occasion playing in front of a packed Stadium, our main aim remains taking three points from the game.”
