Managing Director, Bheki Shongwe kick started the Mother’s Day celebrations at the Village on Friday by buying gifts for the ladies.

Sarah Mokgatle, a Refreshment lady at the Village could not hold her excitement, “We (the mothers) were all called to the boardroom…not aware that the MD had a surprise for us and he presented me with a beautiful gown. It was really something special,” she said.

Kaizerchiefs.com went around the offices on Monday morning to ask what the Village personnel did for their mothers.

I could not go to spend the day with her but did give her a call. She is a strong fun loving, caring person. I am in football today because of her as she got me a coaching job at Balfour…I will forever be grateful to her.

I stay together with my mum who is also a friend of mine. My mother is the only person I trust about anything. I took her out to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Nomalanga Ndawonde (Refreshment lady/Cleaner)

I bought my mum a cake, cooked and we just chilled. We have a perfect relationship; she looks much younger than me. My mother was there for me when I was bedridden at hospital back in 2003. She was there for me through and through and never gave up. I love her.

Sophia Nkosi (PA to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung)

I could not be with my mum on the day but did send her a Mother’s Day message. We have a very special relationship and she knows that even though I did not make it she is always in my heart. My sisters all went home to Pretoria to spend time with her as we had organized dinner. My mother is a very strong lady who always encourages me not to give up and that I should always pray.

Hanifa Madina (PA to the Football Manager, Bobby Motaung)

We are buddies and I open up to her about everything. She is my rock. I pity people who do not have parents as they miss out on an opportunity to cherish them. We just chilled at home and although I did not buy her anything special I was able to give her the love.

Tshidi Zondi (Supporters Agent)

She was away on a conference and that gave me time to cook up a storm. I have a perfect relationship with my mother who is more like a friend to me. I am comfortable talking to her about anything.

Zweli Msomi (Supporters Agent)

My mother is special for one reason that she carried me for nine months and that is what stands out for me!

The Executive Chairman Mr. Motaung believes that, ‘every day should be a Mother’s Day and it is important that we make mothers feel special every day of our lives,” he said.
