The Kaizer Chiefs Chairman and Managing Director Kaizer Motaung joined many other football lovers in wishing the Mpumalanga Black Aces well in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Amazayoni, as the club is affectionally known in football circles, enlisted themselves as the second team after Jomo Cosmos, to have been promoted to the Premier League. This is subsequent to their 3-0 emphatic win over the financially established Thanda Royal Zulu during the second leg of the Premiership play-offs held at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday night.

“Firstly, I must congratulate Amazayoni for their excellent show against Thanda Royal Zulu on Saturday night. Their determination on the day lived up to the expectations of many who rallied behind them. It is exciting to see that the gap between the PSL and the National First Division (NFD), in terms of competitiveness, is continually becoming narrow. This is an affirmation that we are on track in taking our football to top-flight,” said Motaung.

Mpumalanga Black Aces have shown a great deal of zeal in their campaign for the Premiership spot, loosing only one game in 12 league games since Sammy Troughton (the head Coach) joined the team in November 2008. They are the second team after Witbank Aces to represent the Mpumalanga Province in the PSL.

“Now the onus is on the Club’s management, the supporters, players and the provincial government, to ensure that the team become a formidable contender in the PSL going forward,” Motaung concluded.
