Motaung angered at false Media reports

Kaizer Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung on Thursday urged Kaizer Chiefs supporters not to take a number of stories written over the past week in a number of publications- and in particular - articles in a weekly soccer publication linking a number of contracted Chiefs players with moves away from The Amakhosi in the new season. Motaung has dismissed these articles as mere speculation as they do not have any solid base; the Chiefs team manager has labelled the stories as mischievous with the intent of purposely destabilizing the team ahead of their two final and crucial matches of the season.

Commenting on the stories, being run by various newspapers, around players who could be on their way out of Chiefs he said, “I urge fans not to believe what they are reading in the newspapers or listening to on the radio. At this stage of the season the media houses will begin to look for stories and will go to any lengths to sell their publications”.

Motaung further added “we will be restructuring our team in the off season and as soon as the current season ends we will make the necessary information public. We care a lot about our supporters and we will use our own internal and external mediums to ensure that the correct information is divulged, for the moment I am saying that they should not believe what is being said in the media”.

The Chiefs team manager made reference to a certain article, which appeared earlier in this week in a weekly soccer tabloid when saying, “we open the paper and out pops a story saying that Kaizer Chiefs is selling one of our senior players. That kind of story is demoralizing and disturbing - it affects the player’s morale, which in turn affects his on-field performance and it then has a ripple effect on the rest of the team. If we are to let our players go they will be the first to know”

Motaung has further said that upon the completion of the current seasons’ fixtures the club will reveal plans for the new season, which will detail player transfers and other related changes.
