Kaizer Chiefs are set to be with out the services of king pin midfielder Thabo Mooki for up to two weeks as the veteran midfielder picked up an injury to his calf during training earlier in the week.

"Thabo seems to be in some discomfort after straining some muscle tissue in his calf and after some analyses and further tests we have decided to give him off for two weeks he will resume training in the early part of February," the diagnosis from Kaizer Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner.

The injury means that Thabo will be unavailable for Chiefs international friendly game this Saturday against FC Moscow, as he was looking for to coming up against former team mate Stanton Fredericks.

"Playing against foreign teams is something a player looks forward to because it offers a different challenge and I was looking towards playing against Stanton because he was one of our team mates before and it would have been nice to put one over him."

Apart from Thabo the Amakhosi at the moment are injury free with long term injury sufferer Serge Djiehoua close to the end of his lay off period with clubs medical staff optimistic that he could be in full training at the end of the month. Physiotherapist David Milner explains further; "Serge physical condition is looking really good at the moment, I have set down the end of the month for him to start training he needs to continue progressing the way he has been for this to be possible."

With the PSL in recess the Amakhosi will be out of competitive action until the 15th February, by which time Thabo would be fully recovered and Serge Djiehoua optimistic on making his first appearance for Chiefs since getting injured in late September.
