The Amakhosi’s long term injury concerns over the injured duo of David Mathebula and Tshepo Bulu, seem to be easing up as the two midfielders begin to display signs of recovery from the injuries which have side lined them and will continue to keep them out of action for the next couple of months.

Mathebula who had been moving around with the aid of crutches and a leg brace since injuring his metatarsal during a league game against SuperSport on the 16th September has recently shed both the crutches and the brace and his able to move around freely.

While Mathebula who underwent an operation straight after his ordeal a month ago, has begun to surge ahead after the setback, so to has Tshepo Bulu as he works his way past an achilles tendon problem. Bulu who is expected to be out for up to eight months should return to full raining in February, has been working effortless in the gym and has been commended for the effort he has been putting in by Amakhosi Physiotherapist David Milner.

Freedom for Mathebula

Whether it be on the field of play or the training ground, Mathebula is not used to being bogged down. In recent times he felt helpless as he moved around with the aide of crutches.

He spoke to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday of his joy at not having to use the support of crutches any more, “it was really frustrating for me to have to have a heavy brace on my leg as well as moving around with crutches. Now that they gone I feel free again thankfully the brace helped me get everything back in place, the gym work has been tough I need to do it as I want to return stronger and fitter from the injury”.

Medical satisfaction

Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner who has been working closely with both Bulu and Mathebula has been buoyed by the determination and effort being put in by the players, as they work through their rehabilitation process and updated kaizerchiefs.com on the players progress saying. “We have used this opportunity especially with Tshepo to help improve his physical stature with resounding results I must add, both he and David are moving along quiet nicely.

Within the next three weeks David should begin jogging and Tshepo will be doing the same in about four weeks time”.
