Kaizer Chiefs players, led by assistant coach, Fani Madida and goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkerlacker took time off from their hectic schedule and conducted coaching clinics in Cloetesville in Stellenbosch as part of their Corporate Social Investment Programme (CSI). Kaizer Chiefs made history by being the first PSL team to visit the community of Cloetesville.

The event was an initiative from Western Cape’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Sports, the Local Municipality, the Stellenbosch Local Football Association (LFA), and Kaizer Chiefs. The initiative is also part of 2010 Legacy project aimed at uplifting and empowering communities through football.

Among those who attended from Kaizer Chiefs was Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung, Team captain Jimmy Tau, Arthur Zwane, Emille Baron, Itumeleng Khune, Kaizer Motaung Jr together with assistant coach, Fani Madida and goalkeeper coach, Rainer Dinkelacker, Western Cape’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Sports representatives, SAFA representatives, LFA representatives and youth coaches around the area.

2010 World Cup ambassadors, former Bafana Bafana captain, Thabo Mngomeni, local born Joe Anne Solomons and former Hellenic goal poacher Reginald Djantjies were in attendance to assist with the coaching clinics.

Kaizer Chiefs legend and assistant coach, Fani Madida speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after the programme could not hold his delight on the opportunity to work with youngsters.

“It is to me of major importance that we plough back to the communities. I am sure that some of people who are here this afternoon were at Newlands yesterday to support us against Manchester United. As the Kaizer Chiefs Family we appreciate an opportunity to mix with community, and give something back to the youngsters.

"You can see that from the way they are handling the ball that youth development has a long way to go here. The teachers and coaches have a huge responsibility to play in making sure that this area (Western Cape) continues to produce many players like our own Emille Baron” he said.

Fani added that he was delighted to see former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates midfield maestro, Thabo Mngomeni taking time to work with youngsters.

“I was very happy of course to see Thabo (Mngomeni) here working with youngsters. He has a lot to offer in the development of football” he said adding that he enjoyed the time in Cloetesville.
