Kaizer Chiefs Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung has been working to mobilize the colourful supporters of the Amakhosi in Durban and P.E. for the highly anticipated Vodacom Challenge this month.

The Kaizer Chiefs fans welcomed their heroes to the city of Durban after they gave the Tottenham players a warm South African welcome on the 19th July at the airport in Durban. Vuvuzelas, flags and posters laden with the Amakhosi slogan in the famous Kaizer Chiefs Gold and Black, coloured the airport as Supporters waited to see the young men they hail as Football Heroes.

Fans were mobilized from KZN, Utenhage, and Motherwell and as far off as other areas in the Eastern Cape. Cecil Motaung worked hard in conjunction with his colleague, Thebe Mohatle to ensure that Supporters were communicated to and were available to be at the arrivals on the relevant days. Fans also painted the stadium Gold and Black in Durban at the ABSA Stadium, where the Tottenham Hotspur Team were yet again welcomed by a sea of Gold and Black.

Supporters also managed to make an appearance at the Orlando Pirates vs. Tottenham Hotspur game on the 24th July, here the Amakhosi Faithful stood behind their South African arch rivals, Orlando Pirates as a united force of support against the visiting team. Kaizer Chiefs Supporters added a much needed vibe to the match as they sang and danced, showing their support for the Pirates Team and showcasing a true South African experience of football to the English Premiership side.

Tonight, the Amakhosi fans ready themselves for the clash that they have been waiting for, Kaizer Chiefs vs. Orlando Pirates. This is definitely set to be the biggest football fixture to be played in the city of P.E. at the Eastern Province Rugby Union in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. Yet again, Supporters are set to pack the stadium to capacity as South African football lover’s travel from all corners of the country to show their support for their favourite Glamorous Football Club. Kaizer Chiefs are the largest supported football brand in South Africa, hence the excitement and buzz that fills the streets of P.E. tonight.

Marketing Manager Jessica Motaung said this afternoon in anticipation to the match this evening, “It is absolutely thrilling to reconnect with our supporters as we prepare to embark on our new Supporters initiatives this coming season!” While her colleague, Cecil Motaung, expressed his excitement at being able to mobilize the Supporters from the various areas, he said, “I am very exited to be here in P.E., Durban was an amazing experience. Our Supporters came in their numbers and I am happy to say that we have been meeting with them and holding meetings with the various branches. We are well supported wherever we go, this brand is so loved and many travel from far to experience what no other football fan can experience unless you are a Khosi 4 Life!’

Both Managers urged their fans to keep supporting in anticipation to a very exiting season during which Supporters would once again become a main focus. They also urged that fans do not forget the Clubs slogan of ‘Love and Peace’ and to keep in mind that they are really an example to all football supporters in South Africa.
