Kaizer Chiefs Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung has joined millions around the world in congratulating United States President elect, Mr. Barack Obama. The much anticipated elections were held on Tuesday, 4 November 2008.

“It is with great delight that Honourable Barack Obama has been elected the first African-American President of the great United States of America. Such an outcome is indeed historic and ushers in lots of “possibilities” to the socio-economic and political transformation of not only the US but the entire global village” said the Kaizer Chiefs Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung.

It is in our view the manifestation for a true democracy and the will of the people. This we say because of the manner in which the people of America have embraced change while ensuring that the elections were fair, peaceful and successful.”

Mr. Motaung added, “On behalf of Kaizer Chiefs Family, we would like to congratulate Mr. Obama and all those who will in the near future, don the robes of leadership in the White House. Equally, we wish him success and prosperity for his entire tenure as President of United States”.
