Kaizer Chiefs Christmas Party Report

Kaizer Chiefs Management, Staff, Development staff, Development and Senior Technical staff and players on Monday (14 Dec 2009) afternoon gathered under one roof to celebrate what has been a long year, 2009.

It is a tradition for the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung to thank all the role players for their contribution to the Kaizer Chiefs Football Club.

“I thank you all for your contribution to this brand. I want to challenge you on the same note that as you take a rest you think about next year because it is a big year for the Club as we turn 40,” he said also reminding everyone that you are all ‘ambassadors of the Club’.

With formalities out of the way it was left to Football Manager, Bobby Motaung who was the Chef and Programme Director for the day. The stylish “Bobsteak” put his designer suits aside on Monday and surprised everyone by wearing an Amakhosi apron organized for him by Brand Manager, Dara Carroll.

“This is a day for celebration and I want you all to relax and have fun. As the team though we should keep in mind that we still have three games to go before Christmas,” said Bobby.

The highlight of the function was when the entire team lined up to present Christmas presents to the staff members.

“The players acknowledge the role that the staff members are playing quietly behind the scenes. Teamwork in sport is key, I am a great admirer for Formula One and I am fortunate to have been able to watch it live a couple of times. Louis Hamilton will first acknowledge people working in the background when he wins a title.

He knows that it is not all about him and it might not be possible for him to win if people putting tires and the engineers are not making an input. This is a culture that we want to inculcate here at Chiefs,” remarked Bobby.

Thabo Mabaso from Supporters Club was without a doubt the smartest dresser in the room and sat quietly in the company of Sifiso Ngcobo and Fancy Seleka - all who come from the successful Supporters Club that works hard all year recruiting supporters.

Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung and Strategy & Commercial Manager, Sajeed Sacraine used the function to discuss more ‘strategies’ for the Club going forward.

Dara Carroll and veterans Sarah Mokgatle and Richard Langa were all a marvel to watch on the stage while Supporters Retail Manager, Emmanuel Khumalo did well as a photographer.

Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic ‘took it easy’ only talking to Bobby Motaung - he did set the house alight when he gave his present to Amien “Spy” Kaldine.

KCTV presenter, Bonang Matheba also graced the occasion as our guest. The KCTV crew was there to show the history for Kaizer Chiefs Show that is on SuperSport 4 on the last Thursday of the Month. Watch the show (31th DEC) It is as 7.30 p.m.

Video Analyst, Kenneth Dambe sat in the corner in the company of his close buddy, Zweli Msomi…the only time he was seen up was when he was queuing for a ‘soft drink’.

PA to Football Manager, Hanifa Madina, Nomalanga Ndawonde, Julia Khumalo also took the stage by storm giving Dara, Sarah and Richard a run for their money.

There was no holiday on Tuesday though as the Management convened for their Management meeting and everyone resumed with their duties.
