His teammates found it very strange that Jimmy Tau would miss a training session without informing any of them that he would be unable to make it to work. Therefore when Tau turned up for training on Wednesday morning the puzzle began to unravel as he explained to his teammates and coach, of the ordeal that he went through on Monday evening while driving through the Southern Johannesburg suburb of Mondeor.

It was in Mondeor on Monday evening where Tau was held up at gun point and stripped of his possessions, assaulted and had his car taken before being left on the road side by a group of hijackers.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday Tau spoke of his horror ordeal and said; "what happened to me is an occurrence which many South Africans undergo every day, it was really scary having a gun pointed in my face and at this point in time all I can do is thank God that my life was spared."

Tau is dealing with all the inconveniences that have been brought to him as a result of the hijacking "the thing is I lost my cell phone, credit cards and a number of other personal belongings and it has taken me the better part of two days to cancel and replace these items."

Chiefs Brand manager Dara Carroll has said that Kaizer Chiefs will do all that they can to assist Jimmy in overcoming the trauma that he has gone through.

Carroll said; "I did speak to Jimmy - we have directed him to a trauma counselor who will help him deal with all that he has gone through."

Benedict Vilakazi, a former teammate of Tau during his playing days with Orlando Pirates, also underwent a similar ordeal in March when he was hijacked and once he has come through the healing process Jimmy is looking to teaming up with Vilakazi and others to fight crime.

Tau said; "right now I am concerned with going to see the counselor and getting my mind focused again thereafter I will get involved in some sort of crime prevention programme which I hope Benedict will be a part of."

Team Manager, Bobby Motaung, when informed by Jimmy regarding his hijacking told him to take the time he needs to attend counselling sessions. The Chiefs Coach has told Tau that he can take the week off and return to training next week.
