Any mention of Absalom Scara Thindwa meant fear and professional loathing from goalkeepers and players that just could not restrain the gentle giant from Swaziland.
With impeccable precision and a penchant for sniffing goals and scoring them, Scara wreaked havoc every time he donned the Amakhosi jersey to take centre stage.
The many trophies that grace our display cabinet can testify to his contribution and a gentle spirit of comradeship that he displayed during his time with the all-conquering Amakhosi of the '80sand early '90s.
Today the legs that banged countless ferocious shots are turning 50 and it is therefore proper to join his family of friends, relatives and ex-colleagues in wishing him many happy returns.
