Muhsin Ertugral has paid tribute to his players following an emphatic victory against Free State Stars in the Nedbank Last 32 on Sunday afternoon at Super Stadium.

The Glamour Boys played well on Sunday and put their opponents on the back foot in particular in the second half but it took an extra time winner from Arthur Zwane to seal the victory.

“We played well and in my opinion we could have wrapped up the game during the 90 minutes. We created lots of chances to seal the game. However, I am pleased with the win. We are ready to face any team in the next round of this competition,” said Ertugral after the game.

The Turk also defended striker, Jose Torrealba who was unfairly booed by the crowd, “Jose is a fantastic professional. I wish that the fans can understand what the player is currently going through at this stage.

I have always said it that at Chiefs we have fantastic fans that travel from all parts of the country to support the team.

It is very important that they lift players when they are down. There have been times this season when the fans have done exactly that, lifting the team when things are not going well.

Muhsin Ertugral and his charges will now prepare for the upcoming encounter against Bidvest Wits to be played on Saturday. The venue for the game will be confirmed later.
