Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung reached a milestone on Thursday, 10 June 2010 when he celebrated 30 years working with Kaizer Chiefs.



‘Chief’ as Cecil Motaung is currently known in football circles joined the Club back in 1980 and is now heading the Supporters Relations office.



“It has been a long journey,” said ‘Chief’ speaking to kaizerchiefs.com. “I want to thank the Executive Chairman, Mr. Motaung for giving me an opportunity to work for this wonderful Club. I only have good memories of the past 30 years and it is even more special that this historic day coincides with the Club celebrating its 40th birthday this year,” said a visibly emotional Motaung.



Motaung also paid a tribute to the fans that made him feel welcome at the Club from day one; “It is the passion of the fans that drives me to do my job. I am grateful to all of them for the support they have given me over the years.



We have come a long way as the Supporters Club since the day I used to be the one doing everything but now I work with a team of dedicated people who give their best to the Club. There were turbulences when we started this project but I am glad that we have now passed that stage and we are living to our promise,” said Motaung former Public Relations Officer,



Chief who sometimes calls himself ‘The 12th Man’ called all the supporters to go out and support the national team during the World Cup.



“We are a football loving nation and I have no doubt that the fans will go out and fill the stadiums in support of Bafana Bafana. It is also important that we make our visitors feel at home in South Africa. Let’s welcome them to the family and make this World Cup a memorable experience for visitors,” pleaded Motaung.



Kaizer Chiefs Family in its totality would like to congratulate Mr. Cecil Motaung on his milestone.
