The two enthusiastic boys were at the village for ‘career shadowing’ as they aspire to become leaders in the sporting fraternity.

“This is of course a dream come true,” said a visibly excited Kamlesh speaking to kaizerchiefs.com following a session with goalkeeper, Thela Ngobeni.

“Thela was just awesome and I remember each and every thing that he said to us. Being here we saw him after the other guys had finished training, running around the field for an extra training. He also mentioned three important words, determination, hard work and commitment,” echoed Lesedi Mthembu who plays as a striker.

“It was interesting to find out from the guys that being a successful sportsman means you need to make lot of sacrifices and work hard at training. There is also a lot of management that needs to go on, like time, being professional. The visit to Naturena just made me more interested in pursuing Sports Management,” said Kamlesh who together with Lesedi are attending at Bese Leadership Academy in Johannesburg.

Ngobeni who kept poles for the U20 during the world cup in Egypt last year told the young boys that in football just like in life, “There is no substitute for hard work. In your studies you are expected to study hard to pass your exams. It is the same in football, you need to train hard, be disciplined to make it to the highest level. Guys here who are playing for Bafana Bafana you will see that they push as hard as everyone else and that should be an attitude…work, work and more work,” said Ngobeni speaking to the young boys.

The two boys will come again for the second session on Thursday, 9 September 2010.
