The entire Kaizer Chiefs team yesterday joined a host of South African Sporting heroes and heroines in the annual Walk Against HIV/AIDS campaign on Monday, 17 November in Johannesburg. The walk will end in Kimberley on December 01, World AIDS Day.

The Sport Heroes Walk Against HIV/AIDS was initiated by SABC Sports Presenter Cynthia Tshaka in 2002 to raise funds for people who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Willing sport heroes are invited to take part in what has turned to be an annual event.

We were the first Club in 1998 in the country to have Aids insignia logo on our jerseys. This is to show our commitment to raise the awareness about this scourge that is affecting our country so badly. Nike, as our sponsors also participated in the walk and this is part of their CSI campaign.

The team is in full support of the Sport Heroes Walk Against HIV/AIDS. On the 1st December, Captain Jimmy Tau who was born in Kimberly will welcome the sport heroes in his hometown”.
