Kaizer Chiefs were back at training this morning following their participation in the Phakisa Cup where they lost 4-2 on penalties against Free State Stars. The medical division was a bit relaxed as there were no major knocks that came out of the game. There are two players who are still on the mend, Sihle Mbambo and Emille Baron who twisted his ankle ahead of Saturday’s game.

“Emille twisted his ankle two weeks ago and I think his injury was aggravated more on Friday last week. It is not a bad injury and he should be off for a day or two. Depending if there is a game this week or not but I am confident he should be ready to play in a week’s time” Physiotherapist, Dave Milner tells Kaizerchiefs.com

Sihle Mbambo, the youngster who has been promoted from Kaizer Chiefs Development at the beginning of last season, tore his cartilage towards the end of last season. “Sihle is going back to see the doctor sometime this week. His knee is not responding after it was operated 10 weeks ago. We will wait for the doctor’s medical report to determine the longevity of the injury. Other than that everyone is okay just minor bruises and bumps from the Saturday’s game,” he adds.
