Three days after the thrilling big Soweto Derby on Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs will return to action against Siwelele FC in another Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
This will be Amakhosi’s 26th match of the season, and they will be desperate to collect maximum points to continue their push to secure a CAF competition spot.
Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates left Chiefs in third spot on 47 points after 25 games, while the hosts, Siwelele, sit in 11th place with 29 points from the same number of matches. The Bloemfontein side also played to a goalless draw against Golden Arrows on Friday in Durban.
Historically, encounters in Bloemfontein have been among the highlights of the season, drawing passionate support from both sets of fans and producing entertaining football on the pitch.
With an unbeaten run of seven matches, Amakhosi will be aiming to reach the 50-point mark on Wednesday, a milestone that would edge them closer to their African competition target.
