Kaizer Chiefs first training session for the new season was a success according to assistant coach Fanie Madida.

After two seasons in the doldrums with results not forthcoming, Madida, who used to pulverise defenders into submission, said he was happy with the attitude presented by the players as they showed every inch of retuning to their rampant best.

Taken through their paces by Chiefs physical trainer Elsa Storm at Eldorado Stadium, Madida was happy to get the best out of his players considering that it was their first day after a month lay-off.

“Every player’s response was phenomenal and one hopes that we keep it up. The only way to get success is to make the players special, something that head-coach Mushin Ertrugral emphasised. It was a nice session and we hope to get into the thick of things when they start realizing that holidays are something of the past.”

With Kaizer Motaung Jnr still nursing an ankle injury, there were some new faces who impressed and if their diligence was anything to go by, Chiefs are the team to beat come the 2007/08 season.
