All work and no play would make Kaizer Chiefs a dull team. Well, Kaizer Chiefs is anything but dull. The team works hard and plays hard.

On Sunday, 22 July 2007, the day after an impressive performance against Tottenham Hotspur in Durban, Coach Ertugral and his charges enjoyed some fun in the sun at the beach. Even though Sunday was technically a day off for the players, they were happy to take a break together. It was a short walk from their hotel to the golden sands of the Indian Ocean.

Once on the beach, Coach Ertugral, along with Assistant Coach Madida and Goalkeeper Coach Dinkelacker, had the players loosen up with some walking and stretching in the surf.

The gorgeous setting, complete with rolling waves and winter sun, was reinvigorating and allowed the team to draw strength from the Earth’s energy.

With the Vodacom Challenge being a premier pre-season tournament, it is as much about Kaizer Chiefs performance on the field as it is about team building off the field.

Taking a break at the beach presented an excellent opportunity for the players to unwind, have fun, and strengthen their bond.
