Chairman’s Year-End Message
Chairman’s Year-End Message

Posted in News on Dec 15, 2008.

It is that time of the year in which we reflect on ourselves as individuals and as a collective. At the beginning of each year we set ourselves goals which we review during the course of the year because we want to know if indeed we remain on track of the things we wanted to achieve.

In view of the fact that we were taught that “success is not necessarily the position you stand but the direction to which you are heading”, we are adamant that we all have a potential to become successful in life.

The year 2008 has obviously been a year of mixed lessons. This we say considering our milestones which were equalled by challenges which clearly tested our patience and character, on and off the field. Such an experience shapes our forward-moving trajectory to turn possibilities into tangible fortunes. It poses yet another opportunity for us to try and work harder in our concerted effort to realise our common goals.

The sound ideals and ethos on which Kaizer Chiefs was founded, have always kept us the masculine team we have become, the one which takes full responsibility for its successes and failures. This year was no exception in how we stood firm and united to overcome everything and anything which stood between us and our enduring culture of winning. We are grateful of the confidence and support we continue to enjoy from all Amakhosi’s key stakeholders. Our supporters, the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and our sponsorship and strategic partners, have once more rallied behind us to see us through 2008.

Growth of Kaizer Chiefs both in the technical, operational and strategic spheres, evidence our recommitment to become a leading football brand competitive enough to stage the hegemony of the world’s best in football. As a team, we will in the long term reap in the fruits which will come as result of the ongoing growth of the Kaizer Chiefs brand.

This as it may, we all deserve a much needed break which allows us to take a moment and reflect while refreshing our goals to gather strength and zeal to take up new set of goals. More importantly, is the opportunity for us to reunite with our families and friends who have been behind us as we deal with our daily business.

They certainly deserve a fair share of the spoils we draw from our achievements. I therefore challenge all of you to take maximum advantage of this short break and give love and appreciation to your loved ones.

As we do that, we need to remind ourselves of the obligation to engage in such festivities in a much responsible way not only to safeguard our well-being but of others alike. So please DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE AND ENJOY RESPONSIBLY!

Happy Season's Greetings!
