Seven-year-old Bongani Mothamaha was a guest of honour at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on Saturday morning. Bongani who was accompanied by his father Amos and volunteers Lina De Carvalho and Maurizio Lupini of the Reach for a Dream Foundation, watched as Chiefs ran out comfortable 5-2 winners in a friendly match against a team from Kwa-Zulu Natal. The young Chiefs fan who comes from Eikenhof, which is close by to the Chiefs village, made it clear who his favourite Chiefs player and got off his feet to applaud the trickery and skill of veteran midfielder Thabo Mooki.

Smiling Day

When the Reach for a Dream team collected Bongani and his dad from his home, he was unaware where he was off to. Lina De Carvalho explains further, “we kept on asking Bongani where he was off to and he really had no idea where we were going to. He is usually a very shy boy and does not usually express himself. When he'd seen the sign pointing towards the Kaizer Chiefs village, he had opened up and was very excited. By the time we got to the front gate he had this big smile on his face and it grew bigger when he met the players. The real highlight for him though was geeting to shake hands and have words with Thabo Mooki”.
