The former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper had to leave training early as he looks to have done damage to his right shoulder, the very shoulder on which he had an operation on in May last year, to repair the damage done to the rotator cuff from an injury he had picked up earlier in his career.

This latest injury is another set back for Baron who returned to full training late in December after missing out on all activities with the rest of his teammates, for seven months since undergoing the operation in May.

Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner when commenting on Emile’s injury said he is waiting for the results of the scan before he can make a full and thorough assessment, but at the moment he does believe that Chiefs could be without the services of Baron for a while.

Amakhosi coach Ernst Middendorp said that he is concerned by the recent turn of events, but he too will wait for the results of the scan before taking any further action.

“I cannot really say how serious the injury is. The boy looked like he was in a lot of pain on Wednesday and we will give him some time to recover and also wait to hear what the specialist has to say, when it comes to injuries of your players you always hope that it is not too serious and this time is no different,” said Middendorp.
