Kaizer Chiefs will take on Limpopo Vodacom League Champions Baroka FC from Seleteng, Ga Mphahlele in Limpopo in the quarter finals of the Nedbank Cup, Baroka who defeated Moroka Swallows in the last round to qualify for the last eight effectively campaign in the South African third division.

The Amakhosi were 4-0 winners over BIDVest Wits on Sunday in their last 16 clash of the Nedbank Cup and avoided facing Premiership opposition in Monday’s draw for the quarterfinals which produced two all PSL ties.

Reacting to the draw Chiefs defender Valery Nahayo who put up a strong showing for the Amakhosi during their win over Wits was cautious warning that Baroka will be no easy pickings.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com Nahayo said “those boys cannot be undermined, they showed the character of professionals in their last game and they will be there to prove that what happened against Swallows was not a lucky result”.

Nahayo would like for Chiefs to duplicate their scintillating showing as they eliminated the defending Champions BIDVest Wits from the competition on Sunday when they face Baroka.

Of this he said “it will be about who wants it more, from our side we will need to focused 200%, it will be a very tough game, everyone is looking to avoid these teams from the lower divisions, because they can be so tricky to play against, we will take them on with a positive attitude.”

The game will in all likelihood be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, a venue where Chiefs have already played three games this season, they defeated Santos in the Telkom Knockout Cup Semi - Finals as well BIDVest Wits in a league game and most recently they drew 1-1 with Free State Stars in an Absa Premiership game at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Stadium.

Nahayo is looking forward to playing at the venue once more, “it’s good that we get to play in a stadium that we are familiar with and on a pitch that is of a high standard, how much of an advantage playing at the Peter Mokaba Stadium will have to be seen. We usually enjoy good support over there and it will help having a large number of fans backing us”.

The game against Baroka will be Chiefs first quarterfinal match in this tournament since the 2005 – 2006 competition when they defeated another team from the Limpopo Province Black Leopards 1-0 in the last eight, on their way to eventually winning the trophy.
