The recommitment to plough back to the communities from which we draw our backbone, the supporters took a major turn this afternoon. At the Corporate Social Investment programme which was held at the King Zwelithini Stadium, on Thursday, 18th of the Heritage month of September, it was Arthur "10111" Zwane, Chiefs’ second Deputy Captain, who urged about 160 school kids who were recruited from Umlazi, Claremont, Inanda and Chesterville to do away from drugs, crime and alcohol abuse, and stick to their books before dreaming about becoming stars of tomorrow.

The applause, which came soon after his short motivational speech, seemed to have consented on his utterances. When asked by the Club’s Public Relations Manager, Siyabulela Makunga, about 90% of the crowd harboured no secrets about who they support in the MTN Wafa! Wafa! the winner takes all final, and screamed to say “Kaizer!” meaning Kaizer Chiefs. Makunga reminded the evidently brilliant and ambitious crowd that “education come first and everything else will follow”.

Andy Smith Leeds Metropolitan University who was representing co-organisers alongside MTN KwaZulu Natal, and Local Department of Sport and Recreation of Ethekwini Municipality, wished Kaizer Chiefs all the luck in the final “because Leeds has deep healthy relations with Kaizer Chiefs. We have a band named after Kaizer Chiefs and a legendary Lucas Radebe who led the Leeds United Football Club for an uninterrupted 3 years. Sorry Sundowns, but no thanks we will support Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday night,” he says.

“The coaching clinics are focusing on a variety of basic football skills like ball control, set pieces, passing, ball handling for goalkeepers and penalty taking,” says Kaizer Jr, who partnered with Arthur Zwane and Gerald Sibeko.

Kwazi Mkhize from the Sport department, thanked all the teams for participation and support of the initiative and vowed that any future partnerships were most welcomed by his Municipality.
