Kaizer Chiefs security service providers Sidas stretched their social responsibility beyond their employees when they embraced the club's No.1 fan of all times Samuel 'Mguyo' Temane at his Katlehong home, who's mental condition gradually improves since he injured himself two years ago.

Presenting a R750 gift to Mguyo on Thursday, Sidas Marketing Director Dan Sidambe said: "It has always been our dream to be part of the Kaizer Chiefs charity initiatives and when we heard about the plight of Mguyo we were touched and decided to do something, because it is through the club's fans that we get this business.

"This, to us is an indication of how much love there is out there for Chiefs from their supporters and we are grateful to be associated with a real humble man like Mguyo who appreciates simple things in life. My company has pledged to donate R250 every time we render our services to Chiefs and this little amount is part of greater things to come."

At the presentation Chiefs were represented by the PRO Putco Mafani, Head of Security & logistics: Thami Myaluza and Supporters Liaison Officer: Cecil Motaung and about 20 other Chiefs supporters of the Katlehong branch.

Reacting on behalf of Mguyo's family Katlehong supporters club branch spokesperson Sipho Rapetsoa said he was thankful that not only Kaizer Chiefs head office was concerned about Mguyo's situation but "it is fulfilling to see other stakeholders showing their love for a man that lives his whole life on nothing else except his undying support and love for Chiefs".

Rapetsoa said the Katlehong branch of the supporters was, however concerned about strange people arriving at the home of Mguyo anytime of the day and some certain quarters of the media without even making proper arrangements with the family, "we plead with the members of the public to give Mguyo's family the privacy and respect it deserves, and if there is anyone wishing to visit or interview Mguyo or his wife, they should contact myself or the branch chairperson to facilitate those visits and interviews. We do not wish that Mguyo's mental condition be taken for granted and have people saying hurting things about either Mguyo or Kaizer Chiefs. The only time we had a well co-ordinated visit here was when (Orlando) Pirates' supporters came and had a lot of fun with Mguyo," he said.

Rapetsoa can be contacted on 011- 874 5639/5661 or 082 454 7031 and the family is pleading with those who would want to visit or get more information about Mguyo to contact Sipho Rapetsoa first.

Mguyo fell from the roof of his house and crushed through a glass coffee table head first to the floor leaving him badly injured with his memory adversely affected. Doctors later discovered that the only images and names that were left in his memory were those of Kaizer Chiefs, Kaizer Motaung and a few of the club's star players like Jabu Pule, Doctor Khumalo, Shoe Mosheou and Thabo Mooki.

The management of Kaizer Chiefs is preparing an honorary visit and as part of the 35th Anniversary celebrations to honor and list Mguyo among those legendary pathfinders who helped build the brand of the club.
