Following on from their memorable win over Orlando Pirates Reserves last weekend, Kaizer Chiefs Reserves continued their resurgence in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) with an emphatic 5-1 demolition of Chippa United Reserves at Westbourne Oval stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday morning.
Returning to the kind of form that propelled Chiefs to record-breaking title success last season, goals by Kamogelo Malefo and a brace each from Thulani Mabaso and Manqoba Ozoemena were just reward for the superiority of the defending DDC champions, who outclassed their opponents from the opening whistle until the last.
A third consecutive three-point haul in their final league outing of 2025 has elevated Amakhosi up the national U23 league table into third position (at time of writing), with 20 points from 12 matches. Their fixture away to Lamontville Golden Arrows, scheduled for this coming Sunday, 30 November, is postponed and the league will resume on Saturday, 10 January 2026.
The result is a great boost of confidence for the team as they get ready to embark on a tour to the United Kingdom on Tuesday, 25 November, where they will play friendlies against the U21 teams from esteemed English clubs, Manchester United, Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers before returning to South Africa on 7 December.
