Amakhosi get tough on misbehaviour at Stadium

Kaizer Chiefs have given private security companies as well as PSL Security staff the right to lay charges against spectators, officials, vendors and any other persons in attendance at The Amakhosi’s home games, who cause any disturbances whatsoever.

In an effort to ensure that all fans can attend Chiefs matches in a safe environment, the club has given security staff at Chiefs home games the ability to lay charges and take further legal action against people who cause disruption at the games.

It is not just the fans who will be under scrutiny as Chiefs begin to use technology such as CCTV Cameras to pinpoint troublemaker’s, turnstile operators and security officials will also be under surveillance. In an effort to prevent staff manning the stadium gates from touting tickets, the club will with the aide of modern technology, be able to see if ushers are reselling used tickets.

Commenting on the club's new tactics towards making the stadium experience a safer one for the fans, Chiefs brand manager Dara Carroll added, “our aim as a team is for all our fans, who we actually think of as members of our extended family to be able to attend Chiefs games without any security fears and therefore we have gone to great lengths to ensure that we have extra security at our matches. Therefore we want to warn anyone intending on creating havoc at the stadium, that they will be prosecuted on sight and we will ensure that the full strength of the law takes its course against them”.

The Chiefs brand manager though has commended Chiefs fans for their behaviour in recent months adding, “the measures we are taking are preventative ones - not based on any incidents that have taken place in recent months. Instead it is about ensuring that we do not have a repeat of the incidents that took place at our league game against Bidvest Wits earlier this season. I must add that our fans have really been on top of the behaviour since then and they have been good ambassadors for the team, and have really stood together and put the club’s motto of love and peace forward”.

Carroll is further confident that with Chiefs due to play defending PSL Champions Mamelodi Sundowns in Tshwane on Saturday, The Amakhosi faithful will turn up in large numbers to rally behind the team.

Carroll in commenting on Saturday’s game said “we are urging all our fans to look their gold and black best on Saturday, we know the game against Sundowns is an important one therefore we need to drown the opposition in a sea of gold”.

A Sundowns official confirmed to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday that tickets for the much-awaited clash, will be available from Monday afternoon at Computicket outlets around South Africa, in addition fans can also purchase tickets from Checkers and Shoprite stores throughout the country.
