All smiles at Naturena

It was an occasion when the elements combined to ensure that it would really be a picture perfect day in Johannesburg.

The clear blue skies and the bright spring sun in all its radiance and glory beamed across the sky which made certain that The Amakhosi would be able to have their annual team picture taken on Thursday without any interruptions.

The 2007 – 2008 Chiefs team picture was snapped up early on Thursday morning and thereafter Muhsin Ertugral got his team back down to the business of preparing for their upcoming PSL game against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday evening. The Chiefs coach literally wiped the smiles off his players faces as he had them put through their paces, by a physical trainer who was tasked with running the rule over the Chiefs players during Thursday’s morning session.

Mooki makes it

Early morning traffic ensured that Chiefs midfielder Thabo Mooki known for weaving his way around tricky situations on the field, would be jammed up and unable to get to the Kaizer Chiefs village on time for the 08h00 photo appointment. The shoot was temporarily halted as it was decided that the veteran midfielder be given time to get to the Chiefs village.

Like the old saying goes rather late than never as the number 12 turned up a short while later to make it into the picture. A relieved looking Mooki who has been part of every Kaizer Chiefs team picture since 1994 said “there were a number of blockages on the road and a journey which usually takes me ten minutes took forty five minutes to complete. Thankfully I made and I am glad to be in the picture with the rest of the guys”.
