Kaizer Chiefs will wrap up the year 2024 with a home game against Chippa United, hosted at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, this evening. This will be one of three home games Amakhosi will play in Durban in the next three weeks.

In their last encounter, a fortnight ago,, Amakhosi picked up a point on the road against TS Galaxy in Nelspruit. The visiting team, Chippa were on losing side when they went down 1-0 against Cape Town City on 14 December.

Chiefs are still 9th on the log after as many matches, picking up 12 points in the process. Chippa are one spot above them in 8th position, with 14 points after 10 matches.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi is a slightly relieved man with some recoveries in the team after many injuries in the last few weeks. One of the players we will see return is Nkosingphile Ngcobo who is back after a number of weeks. The left-footed midfielder is part of the 20-man squad but will be on the bench for the first whistle.

There will be one change in the starting line-up from the previous encounter, with Njabulo Blom replaced by Pule Mmodi in midfield.

Coach Nabi has decided to change his set up to a 3-5-2 formation.

As far as the Starting XI is concerned, goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma retains his position between the sticks.

The back three will consist of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, who will play on the left, with Rushwin Dortley in middle and Inacio Miguel on the right.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa will be in midfield together with Yusuf Maart. They will have Pule Mmodi on the left wing and Reeve Frosler will be on the right flank. Mduduzi Shabalala will once again play behind the strikers.

Wandile Duba and Ashley Du Preez are joint strikers.

Maart is the captain of the ship.

Christopher Kistoor is this evening’s referee. Tumi Mohlala and Patrick Jaftha are his assistants. Siyabonga Nkomo will be the match’s fourth official.

The Betway Premiership match between Amakhosi and the Chilli Boys will start at 17:45 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. The match is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on X (Twitter) @KaizerChiefs.
