Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to return to winning ways this evening when they face Richards Bay at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex, with another opportunity to collect three crucial points.
Just like the Soweto Derby last weekend, tonight’s clash is completely sold out, a clear sign that supporters continue to rally behind the team as the boys go all out to secure victory away from home.
On the Betway Premiership log, Chiefs currently sit in fifth spot with 30 points from 17 matches, while Richards Bay occupy 12th position with 20 points after 18 games.
Defender Zitha Kwinika misses out due to suspension, but Chiefs are boosted by the return of Sibongiseni Mthethwa, who last featured in November against Zamalek.
Coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef have made a total of five changes to the side that played at the Soweto Derby. At the back, debutant Nkanyiso Shinga replaces Kwinika, to make his first appearance for Amakhosi in his home province.
Other tactical adjustments see Dillan Solomons come in for Thabiso Monyane, while Mthethwa replaces Nkosingiphile Ngcobo in midfield. In attack, Asanele Velebayi and Gaston Sirino start ahead of Pule Mmodi and Glody Lilepo.
It will be a 4-3-3 formation for the Glamour Boys.
Bruce Bvuma starts his second game in a row as the goalkeeper.
The four defenders are Shinga on the left, Aden McCarthy and Inacio Miguel at centre-back, while Solomons will be on the right.
Mthethwa returns as the holding midfielder. He will have Ethan Chislett and Lebohang Maboe in front of him and behind the striker.
On the left flank will be Velebayi and Sirino on the right.
Flavio Da Silva will lead the line.
Miguel is taking on captaincy duties for the evening.
The match officials are referee Christopher Kistoor. He will be assisted by Thembinkosi Mangai and Thembisa Siyatsha. The fourth official is Skhumbuzo Gasa.
Amakhosi’s 18th Betway Premiership match of the season against Natal Rich Boys kicks off 19:30 at uMhlathuze Sport Complex in Richards Bay.
The match will be live on SuperSport’s PSL channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations. There will be regular updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
